We dreamed up Dear Mom, Conference while on a flight to Texas! It was four days of intentional time with other mamas walking our same journey. The magical seed for making this conference happen grew rapidly. Creating a place where moms can meet each other and possibly make lifelong friendships. What an amazing idea!!! Now, here we are. Offering you this dream and opportunity.
Motherhood is beautiful but tough as all get out. We need each other. My best parenting tips come from other mamas, not my doctors. Moments of mom failure and doubts are often corrected by other moms sharing their trials and errors. Learning that your not alone gives you strength to keep going. And to keep going well.
Dear Mom, is just that! A dream birthed from a realization that friendship with another mom raising a child with Down Syndrome is one of the strongest tools you’ll have in this journey.
Dear Mom, Conference is needed for us as much as it may be needed for you. This is our invitation. That we come to know you, because we are you. You are welcome to join us on this journey, together. To pave new paths for seeking hope, finding your voice, and leaving your fears behind.

Jesus is my savior and the director of my path. I’m the Wife of Creative director and pastor Andy Lara, Mom to the one and only Sunflower Mae, Rhodes and Shepard. Living the coastal dream. I formerly worked for 10 years serving people with different abilities. I now have the pleasure of raising my babies and awareness for the differently abled community.
Being a mom of three has always kept me on my toes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Alexis is 20, Rocco is 5, and Gemma is 2. My love is Christopher, and we reside in Laguna Beach, California. I have a strong relationship with the Lord, in which I value highly. You can view a glance into our daily life activities on A&E Born This Way, season 3 & 4. Through this show and my experiences, my heart for the differently abled community has lead me to start the Dear Mom organization, with hopes to support moms who are walking on the same journey as me.
