We dreamed up Dear Mom, Conference while on a flight to Texas! It was four days of intentional time with other mamas walking our same journey. The magical seed for making this conference happen grew rapidly. Creating a place where moms can meet each other and possibly make lifelong friendships. What an amazing idea!!! Now, here we are. Offering you this dream and opportunity.
Motherhood is beautiful but tough as all get out. We need each other. My best parenting tips come from other mamas, not my doctors. Moments of mom failure and doubts are often corrected by other moms sharing their trials and errors. Learning that your not alone gives you strength to keep going. And to keep going well.
Dear Mom, is just that! A dream birthed from a realization that friendship with another mom raising a child with Down Syndrome is one of the strongest tools you’ll have in this journey.
Dear Mom, Conference is needed for us as much as it may be needed for you. This is our invitation. That we come to know you, because we are you. You are welcome to join us on this journey, together. To pave new paths for seeking hope, finding your voice, and leaving your fears behind.

Jesus is my savior and the director of my path. I’m the Wife of Creative director and pastor Andy Lara, Mom to the one and only Sunflower Mae, Rhodes and Shepard. Living the coastal dream. I formerly worked for 10 years serving people with different abilities. I now have the pleasure of raising my babies and awareness for the differently abled community.
Warrior Mom! Best job in the world, I love being a Mom. I’m not the typical Mom with the typical family.
My Love is Christoper, my oldest daughters name is Alexis who is in her 1st year of college, my sons name is Rocco who just turned 4, and has rocked our world with his extra Rad chromosome. Also, to our surprise and delight, my third child’s name is Gemma Marie who will be turning one, she has added the sparkle in my crazy colorful life!
I’m a mom that’s as real as it gets, I wear my heart on my sleeve, I’m a hugger, a crier, and always happy to give encouragement. I dream one day I will be organized! I’m a loyal friend and listener, a realist and a open book at times. Beach + Family dance parties + Movie nights are some of my favs! A little sarcasm mixed with fun and lots of laughter is how I do life.
I have deep gratitude for my beautiful family, my relationship with the Lord, and the amazing support from my mom friends and that one extra chromosome that has help create so many deep relationships, unforgettable experiences, and has filled a void that I didn’t know existed.
The extra chromosome has opened incredible doors for us to advocate for Down syndrome. Our family was asked to be part of A&E’s Emmy award winning series Born This Way. Rocco is the newest cast member to join this incredible, heartfelt series. Season 4 will be our families second season! It’s been an incredible experience to share our journey of our son Rocco, life, and the Beauty of Down syndrome.
